I am pleased to welcome you to my website! The objective in creating this website was to provide an easy way for my current clients and prospective new clients to learn more about the tax accounting services provided by my firm.

I have 33 years of experience in the tax accounting field as a result of my previous experience with the Internal Revenue Service in both technical and managerial positions. During my career with the IRS, I conducted audits of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns in a wide range of businesses from the very small to Fortune 500 companies. Later I served in a number of management positions in which I was responsible for managing field examination teams that performed tax audits under my supervision.

After retiring from the Internal Revenue Service in September, 2005, I established my public accounting firm that specializes in tax accounting services and I focus my efforts on the following client service areas:

1) Tax Return Preparation Services
Individual and Business (partnership, S Corporation, LLC, and Regular Corporation) income tax returns are prepared throughout the year. During each year’s tax filing season, I make myself readily available to meet with you at your convenience and personally prepare your returns. Since I am a sole practitioner, you will have my full attention and may contact me at any time to discuss the status or progress of your tax return. Most returns will be completed within two weeks after our initial, no fee consultation.

2) Tax Planning
Based on my experience and knowledge of the tax laws, I am able to provide timely planning ideas and advice at any time during the year. It is especially important to obtain professional tax advice prior to entering into any significant financial transactions before they occur to properly plan the tax implications up front. Quality time spent in planning now will save you significant tax dollars as well as a lot of lost sleep down the road!

3) Tax Audit Representation Services to Clients.
I effectively represent clients who may be contacted by the IRS or North Carolina Department of Revenue concerning an examination of their returns based on my knowledge and experience of the tax audit process. My perspective naturally comes from the many years that I was employed by the IRS as well as now through working closely with my tax clients in addressing their needs. I advise clients how to resolve their tax disputes by evaluating whether to accept or modify positions taken in the government auditor's report or to pursue an appeal of the tax issues at the next level. I will personally evaluate your tax issues and recommend solid, practical advice about the best course of action to take.

My firm primarily serves the Western North Carolina area; however, I do accept tax consulting engagements outside this local area. My office is located in Candler, NC which is just west of Asheville as you travel through the Smokey Mountains. For specific directions to my home office, please check the Firm Notes section of this website. In summary, my public accounting firm provides quality tax accounting services to individuals and businesses on a timely basis and at a reasonable cost. Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss your own unique tax situation.

**New On-Line Filing Option Now Available**
My firm offers clients the capability of filing their own taxes on line at a very economical price. You will be able to prepare and file your federal and state taxes according to the following fee schedule:

1) Form 1040 $34.95
2) Forms 1040A / 1040EZ 19.95
3) State 14.95

Please take time to compare these prices to Turbo Tax and other National On-Line tax filing companies. Consider the economic benefits of using an on line filing service to electronically file your tax returns and having access to a tax professional who is available to provide technical back up if you need it!
